Parking
The Tram Car Museum has a parking space for disabled people. However, parking is readily available nearby. Parking is also available for school groups visiting the museum, with prior booking.
Questions frequent
Entry to the Museum is currently free on three dates: the day of the Electric Car Parade* (1st Saturday of May); International Museum Day (May 18th); and the Entrelinhas event (a Saturday or Sunday in December). The Museum also offers free access to certain types of visitors.
*To ride a tram on the day of the parade, you need to purchase a ticket, which has an associated cost.
The museum entrance ticket is not valid for an electric car ride, but the electric car ticket entitles you to a discount on admission: 30% for a single-trip ticket and 50% for a two-day ticket.
The electric car ticket must be purchased inside the vehicle, from the attendant.
No. You can always buy tickets at the museum reception during your visit.
Yes. The museum offers guided tours in Portuguese and English, by appointment. Occasionally, it may also offer tours in French. You should make your reservation with the educational department.
We currently have a platform called ZoomGuide which, among other functions, allows you to read and listen to information available about the spaces and objects on display, in seven different languages: Portuguese, English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and Japanese.
There is currently no restaurant or café in the museum, but it is expected that one will be added in the medium term.
Ideally, you should leave backpacks or large bags in the cloakroom.

To make the visit more complete, at least one electric car is kept open for viewing its interior. All the others are closed for protection and preservation reasons.
Yes. To access the museum's archive, there are online platforms to explore the available collection. A project for full accessibility of the museum's photographic and documentary archive is underway. For specific requests, you can ask the museum staff for a visit and consultation of this collection.
